Brivis TEK304/TEK321/TEK331 LED Faults:

LED: Fault/Meaning:

ALL ON

Solid: The most common reason for all of the LEDs to illuminate and stay on, or to turn on and off at random, is due to an electronic failure.  In the case of electronic failure, you may also hear sporadic clicking, clunking, buzzing and ticking.  The room fan may also start and stop at random.  If the thermostat is turned on and calling for heat, the burners may ignite and extinguish sporadically.  This is the most common type of electronic failure and is repairable.

Solid and Flickering (very fast flicker): This is usually due to electronic failure inside the electronic heater controller, but can also be caused by an open-circuit room fan motor.  If the motor is open-circuit or not plugged in, the heater controller will get stuck in its start-up sequence and the LEDs will all come on and flicker very fast.  Even though the room fan motor can cause this issue, it is more likely to be an electronic failure inside the electronic heater controller and not a problem with the room fan motor.
   
O/HF: Overheat Condition – Fan (return air/cold) side.
Solid: The over-temperature thermostatic switch near the room fan motor inside the heater is open-circuit.  This fault may be caused by a failing/failed room fan motor run capacitor, seized/stalled fan motor, or faulty over-temperature switch.  The burners will extinguish and the room fan should be running while this fault is present.

Flashing: Over-temperature Lockout.  The heater is in a safety shutdown due to multiple consecutive over-temperature events.  The heater will not operate while the “O/HF” LED is flashing.
   
O/HS: Overheat Condition – Supply Air (hot/outlet) side.
Solid: The over-temperature thermostatic switch near the hot air outlet of the heater is open-circuit.  This fault may be caused by restricted air flow causing the heater to overheat, a failing/failed room fan motor run capacitor, seized/stalled room fan motor, collapsed ducting, blocked return air filter, or faulty over-temperature switch.  The burners will extinguish and the room fan should be running while this fault is present.

Flashing: Over-temperature Lockout.  The heater is in a safety shutdown due to multiple consecutive over-temperature events.  The heater will not operate while the “O/HS” LED is flashing.
   
ROLL: Rollout – The gas flame is burning outside of the combustion chamber inside the heater.

Sold: The electronic heater controller has detected that the gas flame is burning outside of the combustion chamber.

Flashing: Rollout Lockout.  The electronic heater controller has detected repeated rollout events.  This is a serious safety issue and needs to be looked into by a qualified gasfitter.  A rollout condition may result in an uncontrolled fire inside the heater, heat and/or moisture damage to the gas valve and electronic heater controller, and among other things, it may be a symptom of a defective heat exchanger, which is potentially deadly as it can allow carbon monoxide to enter the premises, which has the potential to cause death.  You can not see or smell carbon monoxide, and very low levels of carbon monoxide will cause health issues, up to and including death.

Due to the potentially serious safety issue, the heater will not function if the “ROLL” LED is flashing.  Discontinue using the heater until it has been serviced by a gasfitter.

   
ALM: (TEK304 Only): Alarm – A fault has been detected that requires the electronic heater controller to be reset.  The cause will need to be investigated, but it is usually due to too many ignition failures or a flame sensing fault.
   
EPRL: (TEK321/TEK331 Only) – Electronic Pilot Re-Light.

TEK321: Solid: The electronic heater controller is attempting to re-light the pilot light.  This will only work if the pilot has very recently extinguished and the thermocouple is working and still hot.
TEK321: Flashing: A flashing “EPRL” LED means that re-lighting of the pilot has failed and no further attempts will be made until the electronic heater controller is either reset or power-cycled.  The heater will still operate if the pilot is lit.  If the pilot is not lit and the heater receives a call for heat from the thermostat, the heater will blow cold air.

TEK331: Solid: The electronic heater controller is waiting for the external ignition module to ignite the pilot.
   
ECON: Informational – The heater is running in economy mode.  This requires a heater with a gas valve an thermostat that are both capable of running in economy mode.
   
FAN: Informational – The electronic heater controller is sending power to the room fan.  The room fan should be running.  If the room fan is not running, the motor run capacitor may have failed, the bearings in the fan motor may be seized, or the electronic heater controller may have an internal fault.
   
STAT: Informational – The thermostat is calling for heat.
Solid: The electronic heater controller has detected a call for heat from the thermostat.  A heating cycle should begin or will be in progress.

Flashing: Cooling down.  A heating cycle has been completed and the thermostat is no longer calling for heat.
   
PRES: (TEK304 Only): Informational – The pressure switch has detected vacuum from the combustion/flue fan.
   
AOG: Informational – Appliance Operation Guide.
Flashing: The microcontroller inside the electronic heater controller has detected an internal problem and has recovered from it.  This is usually caused by electrical interference from the ignitor/ignition circuitry and is not generally anything to be concerned about.

Terms & Conditions – Repair/Exchange:

  • All products come with a 12 month warranty as standard and can be extended at the time of sale.  Extended warranties are available at a rate of $44.00 per every additional 6 months.  The warranty period is limited to a maximum of 24 months.
  • The warranty covers all parts used in the repair as well as the labour provided by LOGISENSE.  The warranty does not cover the labour of yourself or any third party.
  • The warranty does not cover damage caused by faulty accessories, power surges, lightning, water ingress, wiring faults or incorrect installation.
  • The customer pays all postage costs (where applicable) and should ensure that all items posted are adequately protected with bubble wrap or similar.
  • Items that have been tampered with, cleaned with chemicals, damaged by water/liquid ingress, fire, power surges/spikes, lightning or that are in otherwise poor physical condition are not generally eligible for exchange, but a repair may be offered depending on the extent of the damage.
  • There is an assessment fee of $44.00 if the item you bring/send for repair is not faulty.
  • There is no charge in the event that the repair is unsuccessful, other than return postage (if applicable).

Terms & Conditions – Advance Exchange:

  • Advance exchanges are only available to trade customers that have established a working relationship with us.
  • Faulty item(s) must be returned or shipped back to us within 28 days of the invoice date.
  • The customer is to pay any costs associated with the return of the faulty item(s) and will not be reimbursed for these costs.
  • Items that have been tampered with, cleaned with chemicals, damaged by water/liquid ingress, fire, power surges/spikes, lightning or that are in otherwise poor physical condition are not eligible for exchange.
  • Advance exchange deposits will only be refunded upon receipt of the faulty item(s) and only if the returned item(s) meet the conditions outlined above.

  • Reconditioned electrical/electronic parts/assemblies may be returned but will be subject to a $44.00 restocking fee. If any returned parts/assemblies are damaged, no refund will be offered.
