Privacy Policy
Our Promise…
We take your privacy and our own very seriously.
We will only collect and store information necessary to provide our services. We take deliberate measures to reduce the amount of personal information you are required to provide to us, and we will support any request from you to delete your personal information should you ask us to do so.
We will not sell or share your personal information with any 3rd party if it is not necessary for us to do so in order to provide our services to you. Some of your personal information may need to be shared with a 3rd party in order to process payments or for postage/shipping purposes. For example, we may need to share some of your personal information with Square for payment processing (you can avoid this by using direct deposit instead of a credit/debit card), or with Australia Post or other couriers in order to send products to you.
Providing your e-mail address or other contact information will not result in us or any 3rd party sending you marketing material. The only exception to this is if you’re a trade customer, in which case you may receive occasional updates from us regarding the business and updated price lists. If you do not want to receive these updates, just let us know. If you do receive unsolicited commercial email that you believe is a result of using our services, please let us know so that we can take appropriate action.
Our website uses the “WP Statistics” plugin to track user interactions, such as which pages you visit on our website, which search engine you were referred from, which country you’re accessing the website from, etc. This data is stored anonymised and is only recorded to provide us with insights with regard to the website, such as which products are most viewed. WP Statistics is configured in a privacy-sensitive way, where it does not track logged in user activity, IP addresses are hashed and anonymised, and only limited parts of your “User Agent” string (information about your web browser) are stored. If your web browser is configured to send a “Do Not Track” request, this will be honoured by WP Statistics and your activity on our website will not be tracked.
Data collected by our website (this includes the main website and online shop at logisense.com.au, and the ticket system at support.logisense.com.au) is stored locally on the server, in a local database. The server is currently located in the Amazon EC2 compute cloud in Sydney, NSW (within the “ap-southeast-2” availability zone). On a monthly basis, a backup of all data on our server is exported to Canada for off-site backup, which is for disaster recovery and business continuity purposes. This data is stored within the Amazon EC2 compute cloud in Canada, and is encrypted while being transferred from Sydney to Canada. Like Australia, Canada also has strict privacy laws in place.
We make extra effort to protect your data and ours from online threats, including the use of additional security measures on the backend of the website. We apply security updates to the server promptly, and make use of a firewall to help reduce the risk of unauthorised access.
To further protect your privacy and ours, we disable any features that may send data off-site without our knowledge, such as product usage, improvement and crash reporting features that come with certain software products that we use.
